Christian concern

The controversy over Mel Gibson’s movie has revitalized the feeling that the media have an anti-Christian bias. I don’t consider myself a “Bible-thumper,” a term used by Roy Rivenburg in the second line of his article about the gay marriage controversy (“Divided Over Gay Marriage,” March 12). But “Bible-thumper” is a pejorative term nonetheless, used all the time to deride devout Christians. If Gibson would have complained that some of his critics were “Torah-thumpers,” he would rightly have been called “anti-Semitic.” Are there any journalists out there who still recognize hypocrisy?
