Explosion Injures 4 Steel Company Workers
From Times Staff Reports
Four employees at a steel manufacturing plant were injured early Tuesday by a steam explosion.
Most of the 40 employees at TAMCO Steel had evacuated the building on Arrow Highway by the time firefighters arrived about 2:30 a.m, but two had to be rescued, said Kelly Larson of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District.
The injured men sustained serious to moderate injuries from shrapnel and burns, Larson said. Three were taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, and one was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
