Jeff Weaver had another rough outing Tuesday as the Florida Marlins routed the Dodgers, 11-1, at Roger Dean Stadium.

Weaver gave up 10 hits and seven runs (five earned) in three innings, throwing 49 strikes in 71 pitches. The right-hander’s earned-run average increased from 7.07 to 8.47, and he has given up 35 hits in 17 innings.

Manager Jim Tracy recently reaffirmed that Weaver, who committed one of the Dodgers’ three errors in the second, would be one of the team’s starters.

New owners Frank and Jamie McCourt may be off to a slow start with employees and fans, but all they need is time, Tom Lasorda said.

“I think the world of the McCourts and they’ve been very impressive to me,” said Lasorda, who became friendly with the Boston couple while they were bidding to purchase the club. “The whole family has been impressive to me and they want to do what’s right for the Dodgers. They want to do what’s right for the fans.

“I’ll do whatever they want me to do for them, anything that I can do to help this organization be better. I want to help put this organization back to the winning attitude that we once had, and that’s what they want. They’re going to show everyone.”

General Manager Paul DePodesta has sought the Hall of Fame manager’s counsel on baseball issues. Lasorda said the hiring of DePodesta showed the McCourts are on the right track.

“Paul knows what he’s doing and he cares about making this organization great again,” Lasorda said. “The McCourts brought him in here because they only want the best for the Dodgers, so how can you be upset about that?

“The McCourts told me they want me to help Paul and I’m willing to do whatever I can because it’s all about the Dodgers. Everybody just needs to give them a chance to do what they’re trying to do. They want the Dodgers to be great.”

Kim Ng, assistant general manager, said she removed herself from consideration for an assistant position with the New York Mets because of her belief in the Dodgers.

“When I came here, I wanted to be part of an effort that was going to bring a winning club back to Los Angeles,” Ng said. “I still want to be here.”
