Crying wolf?

I thought only politicians will say anything to get attention, but it seems former rock stars trying to promote a concert will do so too (Quick Takes, April 28).

In case Elton John didn’t watch the show, the three “divas” who got the lowest votes the week Jennifer Hudson was eliminated were trying to out-yell each other and trying to see who could make the most notes out of each original note the composer wrote -- and they were singing Barry Manilow songs that night.

The voting public is more sophisticated than John thinks.

It’s a shame that Elton John has jumped on the “Cry Racism” bandwagon regarding the “American Idol” results last week. I guess he forgot that a black man won last season’s competition.

I personally believe that “American Idol” is rigged and the producers determine who stays and who goes. After all, what assurance do we have that the votes are even counted? At least the Oscars have an independent auditor.
