Alex Rodriguez hit his 350th home run and Ruben Sierra had a three-run double in a six-run seventh inning to give the New York Yankees their seventh consecutive victory, 10-8, over the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night at Oakland.

New York rallied from a 7-1 deficit and spoiled a strong offensive game by the A’s, who got two home runs from Eric Chavez and one by Scott Hatteberg.

The Yankees tied Boston for first place in the AL East, making up 4 1/2 games since getting swept at home by the Red Sox from April 23-25.

New York’s winning streak began last Tuesday night with another comeback victory over Oakland -- also keyed by Sierra.

Rodriguez went three for four with a three-run homer in the seventh and drove in four runs. He became the 70th player to reach 350 homers, and the youngest in major league history to do it.

He accomplished the feat at 28 years, 282 days. Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 350th at 28 years, 308 days. Rodriguez’s shot off Mark Mulder to left-center also pushed the reigning American League MVP past 1,000 career runs batted in -- he now has 1,001.

Donovan Osborne (2-0) pitched four innings in relief for the victory. He also beat the A’s last Tuesday in New York.

Chad Bradford (1-1) walked two in the seventh and took the loss.

Tampa Bay 5, Texas 4 -- Tino Martinez’s second homer, a drive off former Yankee teammate Jeff Nelson (0-2), broke a ninth-inning tie and stopped the Rangers’ five-game winning streak at Arlington, Texas.

Baltimore 10, Chicago 3 -- Brian Roberts had three hits, stole four bases and scored four runs at Baltimore as the Orioles ended a three-game losing streak.

Cleveland 7, Boston 6 -- Jason Davis held the Red Sox to two runs and six hits in six innings and the Indians held on for their fourth consecutive victory at Cleveland.

Toronto 5, Kansas City 4 -- The Blue Jays won at home for only the second time behind a shaky Pat Hentgen and a strong bullpen.
