Of the six horses entered in the seventh race today at Hollywood Park, the two to watch are Captain Squire, who will be in front, and King Of Happiness, who will be rallying from behind in the $62,000 allowance turf event over 1 1/16 miles.

Owned by a partnership that includes Bob Bone and trained by Jeff Mullins, Captain Squire will be seeking his second win in five starts on turf as he returns to the Southland after finishing second in the San Francisco Breeders’ Cup Handicap last month at Bay Meadows.

A 5-year-old Flying Chevron gelding, Captain Squire was a wire-to-wire winner as the 9-5 favorite two starts back, when he was dropped into an $80,000 claimer March 19.

King Of Happiness has a win, a second and a third in three U.S. starts. His runner-up effort was to Leroidesanimaux, who has since won the Inglewood Handicap in course record time. Kent Desormeaux will ride the 5-year-old Spinning World horse. He was aboard when the chestnut won Feb. 14.

Gent, Nicobar, Hawkeye and Crisantemo round out the field.

Race of the day: War Trace, who disappointed as the favorite in Keeneland’s Forerunner Stakes on April 15, will try to rebound in the seventh at Belmont Park. Edgar Prado will ride the 3-year-old Storm Cat colt in the $46,000 allowance at 1 1/16 miles on turf.

One for the road: Spooky Mulder looks to have the controlling speed as he stretches out to a mile in the sixth at Belmont Park, a $75,000 claimer for older horses.

Exotically speaking: A trifecta in the fourth keying Cookie Crumbs on top to Absolute Nectar, Madrone and Champ’s Rocket in the two hole and all in the third spot.

Winners: Previous day/meet total: 2/35. Money: Previous day/meet total: $12.20/$194.60. Total money bet: $276.
