The seven horses entered in today’s ninth race at Churchill Downs are no strangers to the winner’s circle.

Clock Stopper, City Rapid, Blazing Count, Discreet Hero, Strength And Honor, Cloud Walker and Mountain General have combined for 41 victories in 127 starts and have earned $1,759,652.

Blazing Count, who is entered for the $80,000 claiming price in the $63,000 optional claimer at six furlongs, has the most wins of the crew.

He has won 10 of 30 and is fresh off an easy victory in the slop at Keeneland on April 21. A winner of five of nine at Churchill Downs, Blazing Count will be ridden by Calvin Borel.

Mountain General, a 6-year-old Mountain Cat gelding, is the richest member of the field.

Owned by Keith Asmussen and trained by Steve Asmussen, Mountain General has earned $569,667 and has won nine of 29.

Clock Stopper hasn’t been out since he won the Perryville Oct. 9 at Keeneland; Cloud Walker won an optional claimer at Churchill on April 28 for owner Tracy Farmer and trainer Tom Amoss.

Race of the day: Conspiring, a 4-year-old Grand Slam filly, will make her U.S. debut for owners Castleton Lyons and trainer Neil Drysdale in today’s seventh, a $50,000 allowance for fillies and mares at 1 1/16miles on the turf, at Hollywood Park.

A winner of one of 11 in Ireland, Conspiring will be ridden by Kent Desormeaux against Proud Nicole, Leave To Appeal, Harbor Blues, Chetak, Quatrain, It Was Meant To Be and La Scala.

One for the road: Linda Belinda cuts back to seven furlongs as she makes her first start in New York for trainer Bobby Frankel in today’s sixth, a $45,000 allowance at Belmont Park. The 3-year-old Grand Slam filly will be ridden by Jerry Bailey and she could kick off the pick four with a victory.

Exotically speaking: A pick four using Gallery Place, Powerful Sister and Wendy’s On To Me in the fifth, Funny Woman in the sixth, La Scala and Conspiring in the seventh and Mr. Fondue, Senor Fango, Beau and Sheriff Joe in the eighth.
