Red High Heels Seeks Improvement

Red High Heels, who has been second in more than half of her starts, will try to break out of the rut in tonight’s seventh, a $13,150 allowance at 300 yards.

Owned by Maria de Jesus Angulo and trained by Concepcion Balderrama, the 3-year-old Corona Cartel filly has been the runner-up in six of 11 races, including a half-length loss to Apollos Favorite in her most recent start April 29.

Red High Heels, a California-bred, will keep jockey Alex Bautista, and she will leave from the outside post in the field of eight.

Rounding out the lineup are the Ed Allred-owned duo of Kingman Kin and She Doll, Heartaches Are Free, who has won her last two at Dixie Downs, Act Up, who is making her first start for leading trainer Paul Jones since she won Feb. 6, Brava Brava, A Summer Time Gal and Fortheloveofyou.
