Try this move to strengthen and firm the muscles in the back of your upper arms (the triceps). You’ll train one arm at a time and use exercise tubing for resistance. To get the most out of this move, perform the exercise in a slow, controlled manner.

1 Grasp a handle of the exercise tubing in your right hand. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your knees slightly bent. Bend your right arm and point your elbow up. With your left hand, grasp the tubing behind your back. Hold it securely so it does not slip through your hand as you perform the exercise.

2 Slowly straighten your right arm above your head. Pause for a moment; don’t lock your elbow to straighten your arm. Tighten your abdominals to protect your back from overarching. In a controlled movement, slowly lower your right arm back to the starting position. Repeat eight to 12 times, then change arms. Perform a total of six sets, three on each arm.
