Informed Voting

There must be a better way to present propositions to voters than by 30-second TV or radio blips of mostly misleading or exaggerated statements that have driven these campaign costs close to $200 million. Proposition 66 [the measure to moderate the three-strikes law] was a prime example. Something is wrong. Perhaps we need each one debated on TV or radio and the text of these debates included in the newspaper and voter guide. Otherwise the next time the ballot selections should read: Yes / No / Let the governor decide.
