Jil Sander parts company again

Share

German fashion designer Jil Sander has exited the house that bears her name, according to a company news release. This is the second time she has left the company. When Prada Group bought the fashion house in 1999, she left within months after clashing with the Italian firm’s head, Patrizio Bertelli, the husband of designer Miuccia Prada. Sander rejoined the company in March 2003.

The house is not profitable, but the spring collection Sander showed in Milan in October received rave reviews from media and retailers alike, and the designer seemed poised to be a leader in the return to minimalism in fashion.
