Coyote’s-eye view

Share

Re Steve Hunter’s letter “Is Science Endangered” [Nov. 7]: I was really happy to go several times with children to the Natural History Museum’s “L.A.: Light/Motion/Dreams” exhibit.

When we are behind the cat-catcher coyote as he looks across the swimming pool into the warm red interior of the human home, we look into the face of hostile nature from the coyote’s point of view. He has had to leave his home to face a strange and dangerous environment in order to survive.

I think this exhibit belongs in the Natural History Museum. I appreciate the museum for its excellence, and I thank the sciences of biological and cultural anthropology for training my mind.
