Strike Taking a Toll on Turnpike Managers
From Times Wire Reports
Pennsylvania Turnpike managers began collecting tolls Thanksgiving Day as the first strike in the turnpike’s 64-year history entered its second day.
The managers were charging a flat rate of $2 per car and $15 per truck. Normally, the toll varies by distance, but the flat rate was charged to prevent backups at the toll plazas.
