Suspect in Letter Bombings Found Dead

A German man suspected of sending letter bombs to politicians was found dead after apparently blowing himself up as authorities closed in.

Police in the Bavarian village of Hutthurm, near the Austrian border, said the body was that of Johann Lang, 22.

In the last six months, Lang allegedly sent nine letter bombs to Bavarian politicians, local officials and the head of Poland’s consular office in Munich. One injury was reported. Lang’s motives were unclear.
