In response to “Hopscotch? Well, Maybe ... ,” editorial, Nov. 28: It appears The Times has a problem with the trend of cruelty-free play in our schools. I always thought the point of grade school was to teach children to be kind and considerate people in addition to reading, writing and arithmetic. Having children participate in activities that do not involve physical violence or shred self-esteem at a young age is a good thing, right?
