Texas Instruments Inc., the world’s biggest maker of microchips that run mobile phones, won a suit against Qualcomm Inc., ending more than a year of fighting to keep the right to use some Qualcomm patents.

Delaware Chancery Court Judge William Chandler III rejected Qualcomm’s arguments that Dallas-based Texas Instruments violated terms of a December 2000 deal, which lets Texas Instruments use some Qualcomm inventions for free.

Shares of Texas Instruments rose 27 cents to $23.10 on the New York Stock Exchange. San Diego-based Qualcomm rose 63 cents to $41.82 on Nasdaq.
