Train With Methanol Derails in Neighborhood

A train carrying a flammable liquid derailed in a Detroit neighborhood, and hundreds of people were evacuated along with three schools, officials said. There were no reports of injuries or illness.
Nine of the CN freight train’s cars left the tracks and some overturned and leaked methanol, authorities said. Methanol is used as an antifreeze and can ignite.
