Glaxo May Ship Flu Shots to U.S. Next Year

GlaxoSmithKline, Europe’s largest drug maker, is in talks with the Food and Drug Administration that may lead to Glaxo sending as many as 12 million influenza shots to the U.S. next year. Glaxo has already agreed to ship 4 million doses of its Fluarix vaccine to the U.S. this year, pending a successful FDA inspection of a factory in Germany.

* Novartis won U.S. approval to market its Femara breast-cancer medicine for preventing relapses in women who’ve already completed therapy with tamoxifen.
