Trial to Start for Man Charged in 7 Killings
From Times Wire Reports
Derrick Todd Lee, who has been convicted of one of seven killings he is charged with, is to go on trial today in the death of Charlotte Murray Pace. The case carries a possible death penalty.
Prosecutors in Baton Rouge say DNA evidence links Lee to seven murders in south Louisiana from 1998 to 2003.
Lee, 35, has pleaded not guilty in Pace’s 2002 slaying. He also is appealing his second-degree murder conviction and life sentence last month in the death of Geralyn DeSoto.
