From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The court-martial of a senior airman charged with espionage was delayed Tuesday as lawyers and a military judge wrestled over administrative details.

The legal proceedings against Ahmad Al Halabi, one of three Muslims accused of forming a spy ring at the high-security Guantanamo Bay military installation in Cuba, now will begin Thursday at the air base.

Nearly half the original 30 charges against Al Halabi have already been dismissed, and his defense team intends to push the judge, Col. Barbara Brand, to throw out the rest of the Air Force’s case against Al Halabi.
