Mahony’s Delays

Re “Mahony Stalls the Healing,” editorial, Sept. 14: As a practicing Catholic and daily communicant, I find the stalling tactics and misplaced priorities of Cardinal Roger Mahony extremely disturbing. The priests he continues to protect gave up their rights when they violated the vows they took at their ordinations. If I were granted an audience with the cardinal, I would like to ask him: How do you want to be remembered and what are you going to do about it? The Protestants have a saying, WWJD -- What would Jesus do? I would like the cardinal to ponder his answer a long time.
