Islam and Terrorism Are Not Synonymous

Letter writers Mike Duran and Leila A. Kelly (Sept. 13) unfairly targeted Islam and Muslims in general because of the act of a few stupid people who falsely justify their disgusting actions with Islam. Nothing about Islam breeds terrorists. The teachings of Islam have nothing to do with what these people are doing. The terrorists are to Islam and Muslims as the Ku Klux Klan is to Christianity and Christians.
Muslims in Russia and around the world condemned the atrocities and have nothing to do with them. The outrage for these attacks should not be vented against Muslims and Islam.
To discriminate against all Muslims because of these terrorists is like discriminating against all Americans because of the actions at Abu Ghraib.
