House Backs Reversal of Cuba Travel Limit

The Republican-led House of Representatives defied the White House and backed a measure that would allow Cuban American families to visit the communist island once a year instead of once every three years.
The amendment was tacked onto a bill funding the Transportation and Treasury departments. The Senate has not acted on the amendment.
The Bush administration this year tightened restrictions on travel to Cuba.
