L.A. City College Needs 8-Lane Running Track

Share

Re “College Orders Driving Range Closed,” Sept. 18: Olympic athletes and thousands of others in Los Angeles were taxed for Propositions A and AA bonds, of which L.A. City College got $241 million for playing fields, classrooms, parking and repairs. It is not much to expect a proper eight-lane running track. A seven-lane track is a waste of money, land and opportunity.

With the Amateur Athletic Foundation and track and field head coaches at UCLA and USC in favor of eight lanes, it is time for the new state community colleges chancellor, Mark Drummond (former L.A. Community College District chancellor), to intervene.
