A Red alert

In regard to the article “Deadpan Dads” (Sept. 19), I realize the main point was to discuss the new shows for this season. However, no mention was made of the character of Red Forman, the dad on “That ‘70s Show.” Not only is the character well-written, but Kurtwood Smith plays him brilliantly. It’s clear that this is not your typical TV dad. He’s grumpy and callous, but deep down he cares about his family; he just doesn’t always show it.
