‘Hero’ star needs more action room

Jet Li, who stars in the movie “Hero,” has listed his home in an Arcadia gated community at slightly less than $5 million.

The action star, 41, who gained fame in Hong Kong martial-arts films of the early ‘90s, has owned the home since it was built in 1998. He is looking to purchase a larger residence.

The Arcadia home has seven bedrooms and about 10 bathrooms in nearly 8,300 square feet. The two-story Mediterranean-style villa also has an indoor pool and spa, a gym, an entertainment room with a stage and panoramic mountain and city views.

Li has appeared in such movies as “Cradle 2 the Grave” (2003) and “Lethal Weapon 4” (1998), in which he made his Hollywood debut. He appears in the action thriller “Unleashed,” due out in 2005.

“Hero,” a Chinese-language film in which Li stars as a nameless warrior trying to unify medieval China, was released in August in the United States. Aerial swordplay in the movie is reminiscent of the action in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”
