Mortgage Applications Rise on Falling Rates

From Reuters

Applications for U.S. home loans rose last week, boosted by mortgage refinancings and new purchases as 30-year mortgage rates eased to their lowest level in six months, an industry group said.

The Mortgage Bankers Assn. said its seasonally adjusted market index, a measure of both types of mortgage activity, rose for the week ended Friday by 4.9% to 724.7.
