Military Deaths

The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Afghanistan and Iraq:

Michael T. Fiscus, 36, of Milford, Ind.; captain, Army National Guard. Fiscus was among four soldiers killed March 26 when a land mine exploded near their military vehicle in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 76th Infantry Brigade, Army National Guard in Indianapolis.

Lee M. Godbolt, 23, of New Orleans; sergeant, Army National Guard. Godbolt was one of two soldiers killed March 26 when a car bomb exploded near their Humvee while they were on patrol in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 141st Field Artillery Regiment, Army National Guard in New Orleans.

Brett M. Hershey, 23, of State College, Pa.; specialist, Army National Guard. Hershey was among four soldiers killed March 26 when a land mine exploded near their military vehicle in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 76th Infantry Brigade, Army National Guard in Indianapolis.

Michael T. Hiester, 33, of Bluffton, Ind.; master sergeant, Army National Guard. Hiester was among four soldiers killed March 26 when a land mine exploded near their military vehicle in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 76th Infantry Brigade, Army National Guard in Indianapolis.

Samuel S. Lee, 19, of Anaheim; private first class, Army. Lee died Monday of noncombat-related injuries in Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Greaves, South Korea.

Bryan J. Richardson, 23, of Summersville, W.Va.; corporal, Marine Corps Reserve. Richardson was killed March 25 in enemy action in Iraq’s Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve in Moundsville, W.Va.

Isiah J. Sinclair, 31, of Natchitoches, La.; sergeant, Army National Guard. Sinclair was one of two soldiers killed March 26 when a car bomb exploded near their Humvee while they were on patrol in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 156th Armored Regiment, Army National Guard in Shreveport, La.

Norman K. Snyder, 21, of Carlisle, Ind.; private first class, Army National Guard. Snyder was among four soldiers killed March 26 when a land mine exploded near their military vehicle in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 76th Infantry Brigade, Army National Guard in Indianapolis.

Eric L. Toth, 21, of Edmonton, Ky.; specialist, Army National Guard. Toth was killed Wednesday when a car bomb exploded near his Humvee while escorting a convoy along a supply route in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 623rd Field Artillery Regiment, Army National Guard in Tompkinsville, Ky.

Charles G. Wells Jr., 32, of Montgomery, Ala.; warrant officer, Marine Corps Reserve. Wells was killed Wednesday in enemy action in Iraq’s Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 6th Motor Transport Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group, Marine Corps Reserve in Orlando, Fla.
