Charles Reschedules Wedding
Prince Charles’ wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles has been postponed a day to avoid conflicting with Friday’s funeral of Pope John Paul II.
The wedding in Windsor, west of London, will be held Saturday, Buckingham Palace said.
Charles will represent Queen Elizabeth II at the funeral, the palace said. Parker Bowles will not accompany him.
Paddy Harverson, the spokesman for the prince’s office, Clarence House, said Charles felt that switching the date was “absolutely the right thing to do.”
On Sunday, the office had said the wedding would not be postponed. Charles and Parker Bowles made the decision to reschedule after he cut short his Swiss skiing holiday Monday.
