An eco-friendly battery roundup

Motorists can help to protect the environment by recycling old batteries from motor vehicles, boats, motorcycles and planes during the Great Battery Roundup this month.

The Automobile Club of Southern California, sponsor of the event, says drivers can take lead-acid batteries to any of the 96 collection locations throughout the Southland from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through next Wednesday.
