In recognition of the popularity of the live performances of “The Sound of Music” that have been held at the Hollywood Bowl and elsewhere, the release of the film’s 40th anniversary special-edition DVD will include a singalong version that features the lyrics in subtitles -- in English, French and Spanish.

That’s just one of the many extras that Fox Home Entertainment is creating for the Nov. 15 release of the Academy Award-winning movie. The two-disc set also will include new reminiscences from stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, a documentary about the Von Trapp family and how its story was turned into the Broadway musical that was the basis for the film, and a reunion featuring the seven performers who played the Von Trapp children on screen.
