Ex-Deputy Convicted of Sexual Battery of Teen
A former Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was convicted Monday of sexual battery for fondling a 16-year-old girl he was questioning in Topanga Canyon in 2002.
Juan-Antonio E. Jimenez, who was fired by the Sheriff’s Department last year, was convicted of a misdemeanor for assaulting the girl while she was in the backseat of his patrol car.
Jimenez, 37, was also convicted of filing a false report, a felony, for a separate incident. He faces a maximum possible sentence of three years in state prison, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Elizabeth Munisoglu.
