Update -- At the time of season the Sparks usually are looking to clinch home-court advantage throughout the playoffs; they now find themselves merely trying to qualify for postseason play. Heading into their final 11 games, the Sparks have a half-game lead over resurgent Phoenix and a one-game lead over Minnesota for the final Western Conference berth. They also have a three-game losing streak, their first of the season, making San Antonio a welcome stop as the fifth game of eight in succession on the road; the Silver Stars haven’t beaten the Sparks since Aug. 9, 2003. San Antonio, which has won two of its last four, has lately been led by a rookie, Katie Feenstra. The 6-foot-8 center has averaged 11.1 points and 5.7 rebounds over the last seven games. Injuries continue to plague the Sparks, with Nikki Teasley on the disabled list and Mwadi Mabika having sat out Sunday’s loss to Seattle.
