Wagner’s ‘Ring’ tickets: $6,300

Share

The first fully staged production of Richard Wagner’s “Ring” cycle in the Southland may be more than a year away, but if you’ve got $6,300 to spare, you can get tickets now.

A VIP package is available for all four operas in the Kirov Opera presentation, which is one of the events surrounding the opening of the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, part of the expanded Orange County Performing Arts Center, in October 2006. Called the “Valhalla Ticket Package,” it includes VIP seating and a $5,000 contribution to the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

The operas will be sung Oct. 6, 7, 9 and 11. Placido Domingo will sing Siegmund in “Die Walkure” on Oct. 7. Valery Gergiev will conduct all performances.

General ticket packages for the four operas, priced from $308 to $1,500, go on sale Sept. 25.
