Two GIs Drown After Humvee Falls in River

Two U.S. service members drowned after their Humvee slid into a river during a military operation against insurgents in eastern Afghanistan, the U.S. military said.
Two other service members escaped from the vehicle before it fell into the Kunar River, east of the city of Jalalabad, on Thursday, the military said in a statement. The troops’ names and branch of service were not immediately released.
