Model misstep

Share

As much as I like Giselle Bundchen, I join advertising executive Kevin Glennon in thinking St. John Knits missed a great opportunity to reach out to older women when they changed their ad campaign [“A Little Hotter, Ma’am,” by Valli Herman, Aug. 9].

As an over-40 woman who still loves fashion and who feels and looks younger than my age, it is beyond disappointing that I am ignored when it comes to marketing. As Glennon found out, there are a bunch of us out here, and we have lots of money to spend. And it’s not like you can’t find a great-looking model in her 30s (or 40s) these days.

I hope someone out there starts listening -- and soon. We’re only going to keep growing in numbers and looking better longer!
