LAPD Officer Kills Himself With Gunshot
An off-duty Los Angeles police officer fatally shot himself Friday in his pickup truck off Mulholland Drive, department officials said.
Police were called to the 8500 block of Mulholland in the Mount Olympus area about 2:30 a.m. after a report of a body slumped in the front seat of the truck.
Department sources identified the officer as David L. Ralph, 49, an 18-year veteran assigned to the West Valley Division. Authorities declined to discuss the incident. Police closed off Mulholland between Skyline Drive and Coldwater Canyon Boulevard for most of the morning to investigate the death.
