Squeezed by nectarines

Re “Slim Pickings in Farm Labor Pool,” Aug. 14

If nectarine growers can’t find workers who will work at minimum wage, they need to raise the wage to whatever it takes -- $20 or $30 per hour -- until their labor requirements are met.

They only have to raise prices on their products to cover their costs. If that doesn’t work, they should just move their operations to Mexico.

Who says nectarines have to be grown in California?
