Murderer of 4 Family Members Gets Death
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A 26-year-old Whittier man was sentenced to death Tuesday for a quadruple homicide that claimed members of three generations of a family.
Alfonso Ignacio Morales was convicted of killing Miguel Ruiz; his wife, Maritza Trejo; their 8-year-old daughter, Jasmine; and Ruiz’s grandmother, Ana Martinez.
Authorities said the murders took place after a daughter in the family spurned Morales’ romantic overtures.
Morales returned to their house with a knife.
