LATC celebration: casting call posted

Share

WANTED: anyone who worked at Los Angeles Theatre Center when it had a full-fledged resident company from 1985 to 1991 or anyone who worked at that company’s predecessor, Los Angeles Actors’ Theatre, between 1975 and 1985.

All of the above are invited to an Oct. 1 reunion at the downtown theater complex. They’re also invited to submit funny stories about their LATC/LAAT experiences to the party’s organizers at www.celebrate-latc.org.

One of those organizers, Daryn Goodall, says he hopes that the company’s former boss, Bill Bushnell, will speak and that actors will read some of the anecdotes that have been collected. A buffet dinner will be served -- assuming, that is, that enough money is donated in advance.

Goodall, a former employee of LATC’s prop and makeup department who now works for “MAD TV” along with two other LATC alumni, declines to offer an opinion on who should run the theater center. It’s currently a bone of contention between two rival would-be management companies that are vying for a 20-year lease from the city.

“There’s nothing we can do,” he says. “We’re so happy the doors are still open in some fashion.”
