Rescuers found three more bodies at the Dongfeng coal mine in northeastern China, bringing the death toll from a blast at the site last week to 169. Two miners remained missing.

Meanwhile, officials said at least 42 workers were trapped at a separate mine.

The official New China News Agency said 76 workers were underground when the Sigou Coal Mine in the central province of Henan flooded Friday and 34 escaped. The agency said the mine had no safety license and the owner had gone into hiding.
