Wooden lights and straw ornaments with a midcentury Nordic bent look more modern than retro, and the flashiest bulbs in chain stores come in this season’s coolest interior colors -- ice blue, inky indigo and metallic teal. Stockings are stuffed with decorative details. Bring Hollywood glamour home or try ski sweater-style hand knits that look good in an Idyllwild cabin or a Tustin Tuscan. For traditionalists, there are Advent needlepoint stockings and fur-trimmed Victorian boots with a wooden skate blade.
