President’s ‘loose tongue’ costing U.S.

Share

While Kim Jong Il’s declared intention to build a nuclear weapon should not endear him to President Bush, I think E. Benjamin Skinner is correct to point out that name-calling from our president is unnecessary (Current, Dec. 11).

The president’s loose tongue has not won the United States many friends in the international community.

If the U.S. wants to keep the allies that it does have and give Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill the ability to negotiate with Kim, a more respectful attitude toward world leaders seems to be in order.
