No Gonzales Race Card

Re “Senate Ratifies Attorney General,” Feb. 4: For senators who supported Alberto Gonzales’ confirmation to accuse those who voted against him of playing the Hispanic race card is cynical, hypocritical and disingenuous, to say the least. How dare they accuse dissenters of their own offense. It was Gonzales’ flippant answers and evasiveness during questioning that cost him unanimous support, not his Hispanic heritage. Shame on those who say otherwise.
