Ex-Governor Has Clot Removed From Brain
From Times Wire Reports
Former Illinois Gov. James R. Thompson, 68, had emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain and was expected to make a full recovery, a spokesman said.
Thompson complained of a headache Friday night. Doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital performed a craniotomy Saturday to remove the clot, a family spokesman said.
Doctors believe a fall in January caused the blood clot.
