Bush Seeks Tsunami Aid Totaling $950 Million

President Bush said he was asking Congress for $950 million to support victims of last year’s devastating tsunami in the Indian Ocean. The request would add $600 million to the current commitment of $350 million.
“We will use these resources to provide assistance and to work with the affected nations on rebuilding vital infrastructure that reenergizes economies and strengthens societies,” Bush said.
