From Times Wire Reports

Activists clamored for the resignation of Kenya’s justice minister after he compared international donors’ demands that the government fight corruption to “raping a woman who is already willing.”

Justice Minister Kiraitu Murungi said lenders were taking Kenya to task over something it was already tackling. He chuckled at his rape comment.

Women’s groups protested outside his office. “In trivializing rape and the fight against graft in the same breath, Kiraitu displays his ignorance on the impact of corruption and the increased waves of sexual violence against women,” human rights activist Miriam Kahita said.
