EARNINGS

* Office Depot Inc. said fourth-quarter earnings rose 15% as sales at older stores in North America had their biggest gain in almost five years and tax expenses dropped. Net income increased to $52.8 million, or 17 cents a share, from $45.8 million, or 15 cents, a year earlier. Sales climbed 6.7% to $3.47 billion.
