The American Society of Cinematographers declined to jump on any “Ray” or “Aviator” bandwagons Sunday, instead giving its award for best feature film of the year to “A Very Long Engagement,” shot by Bruno Delbonnel.

Delbonnel, who spent the early part of his career working on commercials in his native France, previously collaborated with “A Very Long Engagement” director Jean-Pierre Jeunet on “Amelie.” His cinematography for “Engagement” also has earned him an Academy Award nomination.

At their 19th annual awards ceremony, held at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland, the cinematographers also honored Robbie Greenberg (best cable TV movie, for HBO’s “Iron Jawed Angels”), Jonathan Freeman (best broadcast TV movie, for NBC’s “Homeland Security”) and Nathan Hope (best episodic TV series, for CBS’ “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”).
