Another Injury Sidelines Jaric

Times Staff Writer

Marko Jaric probably will be sidelined into the middle of next month after an MRI exam Tuesday in Los Angeles revealed another stress fracture in his right foot.

The Clipper point guard was reactivated last month after sitting out 17 games because of a stress fracture of the second metatarsal bone in his right foot but said he began feeling pain in another part of the foot about 10 days ago. His latest injury is a stress fracture of the third metatarsal.

“That’s what we feared,” Coach Mike Dunleavy said of the news. “I was hoping it wasn’t [another stress fracture] because he said it wasn’t the same bone as last time. You’re hopeful that it’s just something sore.”

Meanwhile, Kerry Kittles was examined in Los Angeles by a back specialist who prescribed an ongoing therapy program. The veteran guard is sidelined indefinitely because of a degenerative disk in his lower back and has told teammates he probably won’t be able to play again for at least a month.
